SONICALITY workshop

Contemplative practices of singing, sounding, and movement

This workshop is an invitation to enjoy sound and movement and their ample possibilities for providing connection - to oneself, and to others. 

Going beyond the affirmed canons of musical and vocal practices we approach the body's capacity to feel and invite our voice to live and play for a moment, together with others, and away from the constriction of “doing it right”.

The encounter is an invitation into a study of your vocality as a doorway towards playfulness, creativity, and recognition of inner sonic landscapes that dwell within each human being. 

The work sessions become a playground for exploring your vocal vocabulary. We use Imagination and sound as a way of connecting to ourselves and interacting with others. 

Parts of the sessions are dedicated to singing of songs, and other parts to a variety of vocal explorations and improvisations.

During the meetings we explore: texture of the sound, connection between sound and perceptions, imagination, movement, and intentions.

The sessions will include:

• guided practices with sound and movement

• exploration of resonance in different parts of the body and energy centers

• intuitive vocal improvisation 

• improvised vocal dialogues with others 

• singing songs / melodies / vocal compositions as an ensemble

• body-mind centering through sound

• experimentation with diverse sonic qualities of the voice, and how they relate to bodily sensations, feelings and imagination.

• creating melodies from within your inner landscape

The workshop is addressed to anyone interested in personal exploration of sound and singing. No prior musical experience is required.

For me singing is a way of investigating my inner worlds, nurturing my intuition, and connecting to the wisdom of the Sentient. During Sonicality workshops I invite you to have a taste of this approach to singing and knowing through sound.
